My JourneyMother, Pageant Queen, Motivational Speaker and 5th Degree Taekwondo Black Belt
I was born a warrior. I entered this world with my first challenge, having breathed in meconium while still in the womb. My parents knew I would pull through. And I did.
As a young child, I was raised in a Taekwondo dojang and Christian faith.
My father, a Taekwondo grandmaster, allowed me to do one sport and with his heavy knowledge of the Korean martial art, that was what I learned.
My father always said I went to church every since I was in my mother’s womb. I was raised in the Christian faith and God has his fingerprints all over me.
I am a warrior shaped by the teachings of my earthly father and guided by my Heavenly Father.
Taekwondo + the Christian faith is cemented within me. I have a strong foundation of martial arts and faith in Christ that has helped me overcome hardships and obstacles.
It also helped me to set and achieve high goals, such as:
✓ Competing in pageants (earning titles too)
✓ Landing the cover of a fitness magazine
✓ Being a guest on a daytime talk show
My Pageant JourneyI can’t talk about my pageant journey without sharing about my faith journey. My faith was re-ignited during the pandemic when stress was at an all-time high. In an act of spiritual submission, I asked God to takeover. Competing in my first-ever beauty pageant was the God-sized dream He placed on my heart. As you can imagine, I was extremely nervous, yet I was so excited and comforted knowing this was going to be a transformative journey. I was ready!
With God in front of me, with God behind me and God beside me, I stepped onto the stage and competed in His glory. And I won! I was crowned Mrs. Maryland America 2021. My pageant journey continued as I competed again with a different system and was crowned yet again as United States of America’s Mrs. Maryland 2023. God continued to work in me on the national stage where I placed as a semi-finalist.
Since then, I’ve coached pageant queens to state and national stages (one of my past clients won a national title!)
Now, I coach others to bust through fear
to pursue their God-sized dreams!
